The BERKELEY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY is delighted to announce the Young Persons Fund for 2020.
The fund is an opportunity for individuals to apply for assistance to help fund something the applicant deems will further improve and develop them and, is associated with agriculture and/or the rural sector. This may be a course the applicant wishes to undertake, money towards a new enterprise, a study tour abroad or assistance in funding for attendance of a conference for example. The value of the fund is up to £1,000.

The fund is open to anyone one who meets the following eligibility criteria, they must:
• Be between the age of 16 & 30 on the date of the application deadline.
• Be a permanent resident (students away at college/university qualify) within the boundaries of Gloucester to the north and Bristol to the south; and the A46 to the east and River Severn to the west – entries outside of these areas may be accepted at the Society’s discretion.
• Have an interest in rural life and UK agriculture.

Where applicants are successful, they will be invited to attend the 2020 Berkeley Show where their prize will be presented, you will also be invited to attend the Agricultural Society Dinner. Successful applicants will also be encouraged to become members of the agricultural society, we need enthusiastic young members to ensure future longevity of the society and continue its work for years to come.
All applications will be considered by the society and applicants will be contacted by the society to notify them of the resulting outcome. The society may choose to split the fund if more than one applicant is considered to be deserving. The value of the fund is up to £1,000 for this year and the society’s decision is final. Where deemed necessary, interviews of applicants by members of the society may be undertaken in order to make a final decision.
